  7. Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF):

  9. Here are the Mean Time Between Failure calculations for SR17 (MKIII)
  10. 386, and SR20(SX-CACHE) motherboards.

  12. These figures were calculated using the following guide lines:

  14. 1. Calculated using TR-NWT-000332 Reliability Prediction by
  15.    by Bellcore, Issue 3, Sept. 1990, 'Reliability Prediction Procedure
  16.    for Electronic Equipment' a module of RQGR, TR-TSY-000796.

  18. 2. Assume a black box estimate with 50% stress, temperature=40
  19.    degrees centigrade, no device burn-in.

  22. 3. Assumes quality level I:

  24.      This level is assign to commercial-grade devices that are

  26.      lot-to-lot controls by equipment supplier.
